Fast-food workers strike, citing low wages: 'It's not enough'
Thu Apr 4, 2013
Ridiculous to be paid such a small amount and live in NYC to boot. Start with the state raising minimum wage to a somewhat livable wage. I think the highest minimum wage in the country is Washington State at around 9.50 an hour.
Helen Hunt opts for H&M on the red carpet

I remember when my son along with the rest of the class received a C in Advanced Placement English. I was shocked and so was he and everyone else.
The making of Hillary Clinton: 15 moments that define her public life
Fri Feb 1, 2013
Mrs Clinton..three words... brilliant, compassionate, presidential. As to the other article, who should portray her in a movie, I would say Meryl Streep for a mature Mrs. Clinton, and Kate Hudson for the young law student who with makeup could also be the more mature Hiliary.
Woman in Brooklyn ER molested by another patient, authorities say
Thu Jan 31, 2013
Warren: When was the last time you were in an ER, not to mention the fact that I and I am sure most posters think your first line in your comment is incredibly immature. At any time, hospitals can have gangs, drug addicts, etc besides distraught family members of the above.
Norovirus: Why washing your hands isn't enough
Mon Jan 28, 2013
People are not responsible when it comes to illness. Last time I was in a public restroom I counted 4 people who came out of a stall and went directly out without stopping to wash their hand. I always open and close the door with a tissue which I always immediately throw away.
Minimalist mom vows to spend nothing on her kid in 2013
Fri Jan 25, 2013
It will not be hard for her son to adapt at all. He is 2. If he were 6 or 10 it would be much more difficult, with pressure from TV, other children, etc. Hopefully, the entire family with adopt this minimalist consumerism too. The 2 year old should not be the only one to adap …
Hundreds of thousands of veterans spurn free benefits
Wed Jan 23, 2013
With missing files, misplaced documents, etc., one has to wonder about the qualifications of the people who have been hired by the VA to serve our veterans. Like any organization you are only as good as the people you hire.
Passerby hears screams, finds missing 5-year-old girl
Tue Jan 15, 2013
Ridiculous statement David. How can you blame a 5 year old for the idiotic action of a school official?
Who knew? Patients' share of health spending is shrinking
Tue Jan 22, 2013
Why is anyone surprised that that the consumer is spending less on overall health care? My 1040.00 a month single person health plan has a 3500 deductible so I will be avoiding the doctor as it is too expensive for me to go. My insurance is mainly for a catastrophic medical event.

Teens banned from shopping alone on Black Friday at Mall of America
It's reasonable
I totally applaud this action, I only wish our major mall would make a similar decision. It has been years since my children were teens, but they were never allowed to go to the mall by themselves, until they actually got an after-school job working at the mall.
An open letter to new Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer
It's a good thing. She's a great example.
Thank you for writing this incredibly moving letter of your personal experience with motherhood and the the joy and challenge that it brings, and the sometimes unwanted guilt that creeps up even years after our children are grown. I understand.
This open letter reminds of a story on another web news site about women who choose not to breastfeed their baby, some because they could not, others because they had no desire, and others who did not produce enough milk.
